Refreshed and ready to take its rightful spot atop a new generation of consoles, the Turtle Beach Stealth 600 Gen 2 is the successor to the best-selling gaming headset for Xbox One and is also compatible with Xbox Series X|S so gamers can be ready to win on either system. This headset was released September 20th so I am sure many of these issues will be fixed eventually. The list of issues is below.1. Sound is switched around so playing games online is nearly impossible. Example: If somone is walking behind me on my left the headset will make the footstep sounds on my right in front of me. Everything is opposite.2. The mic settings are way too sensitive and pick up any noise in the entire house and outside. The mic than has an echo so you hear everything in your headset.3. The only way to calibrate the mic and headset is through the turtle beach app. The app does not work on the phone for some reason so you have to have a computer to change any settings.4. I downloaded the app onto my computer to try and fix the issues I have. I updated the software and followed the instructions. Once I was done updating the headset had a red light turn on. Now I can't get the headset to turn off or connect to my Xbox. I am now assuming i need to wait for the batteries to die and hope it works once I recharge the headset.5. All customer support is supposedly backed up and no one at Turtle Beach can help you solve any of your problems. After all is said and done I now have a headset that can't be used or turned off. I hope Turtle Beach fixes these issues soon.Turtle Beach needs to look into hiring better test and design verification engineers. This product has too many issues upon release.
**Firmware update is required before use**I preordered these and out of the box they were TERRIBLE. I read online to update the firmware so I downloaded the software from Turtle Beach on my computer, plugged these in, and sure enough it needed an update. Now they’ve been working flawlessly. These went from 1/5 stars from 5/5 for me. Will update if I have any other issues.
I always read reviews before buying electronics, so after reading reviews on this headset I was fairly confident that I was either going to love this headset or hate it. Reviews said the mic monitoring was way too sensitive and that it made the item unusable. The good: Sound is clear, adjustable, and surround, and the headset is comfortable. You adjust it in your Xbox settings and tell it you have surround sound on and everything changes. It's amazing. The sound is so clear and the volume is great! One problem I had with other sets is that the sound was too low. This one hasn't got that problem at all. It has volume adjustments for both game and party chat right on the side of the headset. Excellent because honestly, I don't like having to go into the xbox sound settings to adjust that. The ear pieces are very comfortable and lightweight. I wear glasses and most headsets push my glasses in on my head and it's kinda uncomfortable. This headset doesn't push on my glasses at all and is super comfortable. The bad: The only thing bad I can think of to say about this headset is that the pad on the top of the headband is an odd kinda foam feeling pad. I think after a while it'll wear down. I like the cloth strap better on the Arctis, but hey, can we really have everything? The important: When you get your headset, before you even sync it, plug it into a computer. Download the update program from Turtle Beach, and do your firmware update! If you do this, you won't have any problems with the mic monitoring that everybody is complaining about. DO YOUR UPDATE! It even comes with a paper inside telling you to update your firmware! If you fail to do so, your issues are not a problem with the headset...they're with your head.
