Clint Eastwood returns as the “Man With No Name,” this time teaming with two gunslingers (Eli Wallach and Lee Van Cleef) to pursue a cache of $200,000and letting no one, not even warring factions in a civil war, stand in their way. 1. Would not play, only presented window saying must update Blu Ray Player. However over two dozen other Blu Ray movies function within the same Player. This was only one that did not.

  2. I have seen many pathetic films in my life. This topped them. Did I rate one star? Sorry- I meant negative 11 stars. It was the absolute worst movie I have ever seen in my entire life. It was a total waste of three hours when I could have been sleeping. There was no point. The script and storyline were pathetic. The gore was overdone- too much blood, killing, and the like. It was totally historically inaccurate, and the Civil War scenes were so grossly unrealistic that it was laughable. All Civil War veterans are rolling over in their graves. Any scene that was supposed to be touching was pathetic. One of the abolsute bombs was when Clint Eastwood fires off a canon twice with his cigar- yet he does not even load it- either time. And somehow, without even aiming the canon, he knocks his ‘friend’ off his horse.

The movie is a failure. F-A-I-L-U-R-E. Crappy. Junky. Just plain DUMB. STUPID. PATHETIC.

I am not going to waste any more words on it. Just….whatever you do….save your money. Don’t buy it. It’s not worth 50 cents.

  3. Sergio Leone plumbed his greatest depths of nitwittedness when he essayed the script for this travesty. Still, people are watching it 35 years later, so his financiers got something out of it. It would take the film’s full running time to detail how bad it is but one scene captures some of the flavor. Prisoner Eli Wallach the Ugly is being transported to the gallows by Union troop train when he throws himself and his guard out the door of a crowded boxcar. Nobody says hey, train never stops, and neither does another express coming the other way when Wallach uses it to cut the cuffs between him and his dead captor, despite the fact that the deceased is laying in the middle of the tracks. Leone knew exactly nothing about the American West and neither do the people who enjoy his ludicrously mismanaged fantasies about the time and place.

  4. Terrible. Director Leone amuses himself while showing the audience a self indulgent unbelieveable mess albiet beautifully photographed.

  5. I have also region B blu-ray of this masterpiece. It’s worst blu-ray print I have never seen. I would like to see a fully restored blu-ray with original spagettiwestern revolver sound, not this Hollywood-action-crap and with Leones directors cut. Now film is prolonged. And lipsync of those extra scenes is not in order.

I bought from Italy For a few Dollars More and Fistfull of Dollars blu-ray. Both have superb picture. (Fistfull have english mono soundtrack, For A few… only Italy)
