  2. Sorry gang…I realize I’ll get bashed for this – but since it looked popular enough, and got rave reviews, plus had a couple of spin-off’s, I figured: How could I go wrong ???

This is hands down, the most disappointed I have ever felt after watching an entire anime series. Maybe I expected too much ???

The major problem I had with this series is some episodes are clever and entertaining….others are boring…..and others are just plain *stupid*. I honestly don’t remember if there were 2 episodes in a row that were good. Frustration really set in after a great opening episode – then an “ok” 2nd – a terrible 3rd – a good 4th – a poor 5th, ect ect ect…It just never picked up steam and kept me wanting more.

Another problem is characters. The only one I really enjoyed throughout was Ryouko, with Washuu a close 2nd. I found these characters to be the best written with their quick sharp witted sense of humor…But their development was hammered by the whiny Sasami, the prissyness of Aeka, and the stupidity of ‘blonde bimbo’ Mihoshi…..and don’t even get me started on that annoying Ryoohki character. After the first 3-4 “MEOWS” I just about had enough. Toooo cute for his/her/it own good.

I realize this is the world of “Anime” – but damn, folks….The story was just plain *stupid*…and the villans just didn’t have that *spunk* and *sharpness* you love to hate. They are DULL.

Oh – do I have to mention how stupid Aeka’s guards Azaka and Kamidake are ??????? Not funny folks…

So for all you who are hoping to nab the “Anime of all Animes”, this is *not* it. Maybe its for some people – but certainly not for me. There is *much* better anime out there.

The biggest dissapointment of my anime watching tenure.

I also would like to add this is ***ridiculously*** overpriced. Pioneer, you should be ashamed of yourself. THREE disks and “ok” packaging ?? Doesn’t add up in any way, shape, or form.

  3. I was a bit disappointed with this series. I’m a huge fan of Japanese animation but I found the story telling, with all the goofy love triangles, trite. The idea that all the women in the house (even the mother of one of his admirers.) are in love with this young man is male ego in its purest form. The whole thing is too silly for adults to enjoy and there are too many sexual references for small children. The animation was good but certainly not ground breaking. Given the exorbitant price I would recommend missing this one.

  4. I watch Tenchi all the time and I love it! I used to only like DBZ until I saw this! It is positively the best anime ever made! Although, it’s dirty, so if you’re easily offended, don’t get this.

  5. This has a decent story good action and remarkable character developement but is all obsolete when you don,t have enough focus on an actual plot. There are about 10 episodes and the rest are fillers. Yeah if you have plenty of free time go ahead and buy it if you can afford it.
