I was highly reluctant to buy this after reading all the reviews but decided what did I have to lose especially since I'm getting the warranty. I'm glad I did. Mine came as though it was bought from the store. If it is used or refurbished, it's hard to tell because it works like it's brand new. Maybe I was lucky, lol. I say take a chance and at least buy a warranty in case you don't get a good controller the first time.**UPDATE** It's January 21, exactly 3 months after my original review. The controller is still working just fine. It has been dropped a few times but still works. The buttons and joysticks snap back into to place. I will do another update in 3 months! It's July 3rd, nearly 9 months later and still not a still complaint!
I definitely do not recommend purchasing this as a Windows/PC Controller.I purchased Aug 2017. Within 6 weeks of owning, I encountered the "stick drift" issue (analog stick doesn't snap back fully center, stays slightly pushed in whatever direction it was). The warranty is 90 days. Luckily I'm covered under warranty so it should be a pretty simple replacement process right? Nope.No way to claim the warranty on the controller without first registering your Xbox One Console. Well if you're like me and bought it for the PC and don't own an Xbox what are you supposed do? After about 2 hours of chatting with support they finally figure out how to honor the warranty without me owning an xbox. Here's the kicker, I have to mail it back to them, pay for the shipping to send them back their defective product, and wait 2-4 weeks on a replacement. Not worth the trouble or effort.I'm going to purchase a new controller from a retail store, with a protection plan and recommend anyone else wanting to purchase this controller to do the same.
It works... but I'm kind of disappointed I received the older larger Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows, even though in the pictures and description show/state the 33% smaller one. I believe that the controller is an older version as well, maybe a refurb hard to tell.
