Riggs wows the pretties of a hotel spa before getting to Getz. Murtaugh receives bad bodywork news from an auto repairman after his beleaguered station wagon sees some Riggs-piloted street action. Plus, feisty Leo shares a newly included scene in which he recalls a suspect’s address by complex spins of numbers that, well, no one can tell it like Leo. And no one would follow his lead but Riggs and Murtaugh. It’s police procedure, Lethal style. And it’s yours to enjoy as the … More >>

  1. This is without a doubt the worst DVD I have ever seen. The plot is non-existant, the acting terrible and the action is understated.
This film is even more boring than Priscilla Fresh Queen of the Desert, worse it gives a distorted and one sided view of the South African situation by portraying white South Africans as racists and making no reference to the gross human rights attrocities commited by the racist ANC in its’ grab for power.
One would think the directors would know better than to make one sided derogatory films such as this.

  2. Pure manipulation without a shred of logic or genuine fun. It starts out as a good-natured buddy film and it would have been easier to take had it continued in that vein. However, about two-thirds through the film, director Richard Donner apparently felt that it was time for the audience to stop having fun and start feeling a sense of menace. He tries to accomplish this by brutalizing and murdering nearly the entire supporting cast of laughing, fun-loving cops who we are supposed to have bonded with because we’ve seen them playing poker together and sharing jokes about condoms.

The introduction of Joe Pesci’s character makes no sense at all. Why would city cops be used to protect a government witness? Especially two such notorious loose cannons as Riggs and Murtaugh? And why would he be allowed to remain in their custody given the extremely careless job they do of “protecting” him? Because the script says so, that’s why.

I don’t necessarily mind it when comedies play fast and loose with logical motivation, or when action films display a bit of a cruel streak. “Lethal Weapon 2,” however, is an extremely clumsy mixture of the two.

  3. mel gibson is back with more laughs before he went all nutty and jew hating in his later work…this marks the great re-teamup of gibson and sam jackson as the lethal duo with lethal weapons doing stuff that is..well, lethal! like holding guns and mean muggin for the camera. great parts include gibson being “cracy” and jackson being “too old for this crap” except he doesnt really say crap if you get what i am saying, nudge nudge wink wink. i also like the part where this big red “2” comes out of no where. THEY DONT MAKE SURPRISE ENDING LIKE THAT ANYMORE!!! this movie makes rush hour 2 look like lethal weapon 4

  4. Good flick and just as enjoyable as the first. One scene really bothers me though. After Riggs and his new lady are almost gunned down at his trailer, she acts hysterical for about 2 seconds in his truck. In the next sequence, however, we see them making out in front of her apartment and acting all lovey-dovey. Man, she sure got over almost being killed quickly. Someone explain this, please. Don’t get me wrong, I still really like this flick. 3 1/2 stars

  5. I have the movie on laserdisc but I still had to buy it on DVD. It is a funny movie with a lot of great action. Mel Gibson is great in the movie.
