This is one DVD that will not be collecting dust. It has quite a long introduction all be it pleasant. Then Luciano Pavarotti gets down to business. You can tell from his expressions that he is enjoying performing.

Song selection:

National Anthem (British)

La Forza Del Destino – overture

Recondita Armonia

Ah, La Paterna Mano

Quando Le Sere Al Placido

Fra Poco a Me Ricovero

Lamento Di Federico

E Lucevan Le Stelle

Una Futrtiva Lagrima

Nessun Dorma

Torna a Surriento

I have to admit I did not know some of the songs by name but once he gets started they were familiar.

This was a gift to my Mom for the holidays. She loved it and plays it over and over.

I am not going to rattle on in detail about the performances on this DVD. They speak, or sing, for themselves. Suffice to say these performances are an vivid reminder to those who heard and saw Luciano before he became a parody of hinself, or to those who only came to him after, of the true measure of the talent he held.

To anyone who wants to remember or those who want to find out what the hype was all about, buy this disc. You won’t be disappointed.
